Press release: WORLD OF CONCRETE EUROPE The only European event dedicated to concrete

WORLD OF CONCRETE EUROPE, an event incorporated within the Buildings and Concrete Sector hub of INTERMAT, the international exhibition for construction and infrastructure, will be held from 19 to 24 April 2021 at the Paris-Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre

A standalone event within the event at INTERMAT

This third edition has naturally adopted the same guiding theme of innovation of this 2021 INTERMAT show, emphasising the commitment of key players in the European concrete sector to environmental, technological and digital progress.

An exhaustive overview of the latest innovations on the European market

This unique platform for dialogue and information aims to foster the emergence of the multiple facets and themes of the future of concrete in the fields of processes, materials, products, equipment, applications, new technology, construction systems, etc. It will showcase the capacity for innovation and adaptability of the concrete sector, offer it strong visibility and build powerful ties with all its stakeholders.

All the key actors in the concrete sector: producers of concrete, cement and mortar, manufacturers of materials, machines, plant and equipment, accessories, formwork, scaffolding, demolition, lifting and handling accessories, designers of special and decorative concretes, new technology, measurement instruments, etc. will be in attendance to meet up with construction and infrastructure professionals and convey the image of a universal and versatile material with its sights firmly set on the future.

The exhibitors already registered for the 2021 edition include: QUADRA, ZOOMLION (CIFA), SOMERO, PUTZMEISTER, SCHWING STETTER, QUALI PARTS & SERVICES, MASSFELLER, CALENBERG and SFTEC.

The combination of an exhibition space, an educational forum and a demonstration zone

This efficient combination, behind the success of the first two editions, will enable visitors to discover the comprehensive and innovative offering of the concrete sector from its upstream segment: materials, products and additives, to its downstream applications: decorative concretes, coverings, coatings, engineering services.

The indoor exhibition space, organised around a two-pronged product offering:

  • Concrete Industry: machinery and equipment, facilities and equipment for ready-mixed and pre-cast concrete production; materials for concrete; equipment and machinery for special and decorative concrete; equipment, delivery and laying of ready-mixed and pre-cast concrete; new technology, services and engineering for concrete.
  • Buildings: accessories, components and parts for buildings; formwork, scaffolding and shoring; site machinery and tools; materials for building and construction; new technology for building.

Concrete Demo, the outdoor demonstration zone will play host, non-stop, to special features dedicated to concrete product applications, notably special and decorative concrete, and the demonstration of tools and equipment revolving around the latest expertise and methods of layers.

The forum of talks and workshops, designed in collaboration with European experts from the concrete sector, will offer a focus on the fundamentals of concrete: an overview of its contribution to the major issues and developments in the sector, around eight themes:

  • Repair and maintenance of engineering structures
  • Low carbon concretes
  • Underground works
  • RE 2020
  • Concrete and the circular economy
  • Off-site construction
  • Connected concrete
  • New processes

A special World of Concrete Europe award in the INTERMAT Innovation Awards

The international INTERMAT Innovation Awards competition pays tribute to the research and development endeavours of companies and highlights innovations which contribute to driving progress in the construction and infrastructure sector. To this end, a special World of Concrete Europe will reward the initiatives of firms offering a specific innovation to the concrete sector.

A word from Philippe Gruat, president of the French Concrete Sector: “All the changes underway in our sector, whether environmental, technological or digital by nature, need to be accompanied in order to be implemented quickly and effectively. To do so, these innovations must also be promoted and highlighted so that they can be fully integrated into everyone's daily life. A trade show, such as World of Concrete Europe, entirely dedicated to the concrete market, provides this opportunity through its exhibition areas and practical demonstrations. The talks delivered in its forum will also provide an opportunity to discover all the latest advances in concrete construction and highlight the exemplary role of concrete in building a new, more sustainable and more resilient paradigm.”
